Founder & Creative Director

Over two dozen book designs including the NY Times best-sellerThe Elements by Theo Gray

Mobile application design for brands such as Apple Education, Nike, Bloomberg, the Philadelphia Eagles and more.

More than 15 years of newsstand-smashing success for titles such as American Photo, Maxim, Popular Photography, Popular Science, and Sound & Vision.

Born in the Bronx, raised in the ‘Burbs, schooled in Bethlehem and working in the Big City.

I began my journey designing for a small, direct-marketing firm in Princeton, New Jersey. New York City came calling by way of the professional grapevine and I was off to begin my dream career.

In 1999, I started as a junior designer for Maxim magazine. During almost 7 years of dedicated work I was promoted 3 times and was awarded employee of the year in 2002. It was the most incredible job a 20-something guy could ever have. The travel, the celebrity and of course the education.

By the end of 2005, I had then graduated to the greatest job a 30-something guy could ever have: Art Director for the Bonnier Technology Group, which included Popular Science, Science Illustrated, Popular Photography, American Photo, and Sound & Vision. My job required me to listen to and interpret information from every subject, then turn those details into big, bold and engaging visuals.

By 2011, I had become the Executive Creative Director and VP of Product, Services and Operations for Mag+, the app development software spun out of a Popular Science R&D project. My role bridged the gap between print and digital. I spent my days designing apps, training clients and evangelizing the benefits of custom design for the mobile space.

In 2015, I formed MRCokeley Design, LLC. My 19 years of print & digital design experience gives me an uncanny ability to reach those who are just starting out or calling mid-project, ease their apprehensions and send them on their way to creative success.

I look forward to everyday and hope my professional future continues to create more incredible memories.
